Burb car cover

Ok, somewhat strange question.

I might be wanting to buy a car cover (good cloth type) for 72 burb later this spring. Does anyone know who might make such a drop cloth?

Re: Burb car cover

Thanks.

Several choices in $200-$300 range. Anyone have any experience with these? Looking for mostly indoor and occassional outdoor night.

Talk about a tent, I bet its a blast to put one on burb. Ladder required!!

Covercraft, as well. I think other mfrs exist, but I'm not familiar with them. Each site has info on each fabric to help with selection.

I'd say you need one of the water resistent, yet breathable covers since you plan to use one outside on occasion. Like the "Noah" fabric. If you talk with the sales folks, ask them which of their breathable water resistent covers packs down well. Folded size is a concern for storage of the cover that is not often mentioned.

However, if you need door ding protection look into the padded covers that are also breathable and water resistent. I'd also advise going with a fabric that has a "gortex" style membrane for water resistence & breathability since any comparative coating or treatment can wear off eventually. As for the wind, use clamps on the ends and the available security cable for the mid section. Can you tell I've been researching one too?

Stylen (I think that is the name ) has nice covers. I will have to find my book to see for sure.

Re: Burb car cover

I've got one of the CCC units. It is a bear to get it on after a good wax job, you really need 2 people.

Re: Burb car cover

I`ve been there. It`s like watching a cartoon or a slap-stick skit. You get one side on,by the time you go to another corner it`s off.No matter what you try,it keeps slipping off.You try throwing it on the roof and spread a little at a time, then it slips off.Now you`re worried about the grit you`ve picked up and are laying on your vehicle.

Re: Burb car cover

A freshly waxed car or truck is near impossible to get a cover on by ones self. I had to instruct my four year old on how to hold on very tight just to get the cover on my Impala before winter. Frustrating at the time but I'm sure knee slapping funny when watching from the sidelines.

Re: Burb car cover

Just anchor a corner with a spring clamp of some kind. Good idea for all four corners, IMO.
