Question 69-70 Core Support in a 68 ?

Has anyone ever done this? It looks to me the headlight buckets are the only difference when side by side. The fender holes even line up.

Re: 69-70 Core Support in a 68 ?

Isn't the 68 lower? What about the hood latch or the mounting points for the latch? How about provisions for the lower trim, or valiance, or slash pan...what ever they call that.

i was always under the impression ALL this seperated 67/68 from the later ones... in addition to the headlight bucket issues.

The fenders don`t matter.Everything Longhornman said does.If you want to change to a`69-up hood and grille, then yes,you can change them.To use a 69-up core support in place of a 67/68 core support? No.

NEVER

Even if you remove the bezels from the core support the holes are located in a difirent location side to side. I wrecked a rust free 72 rad support trying this.

What he said^^^^^^ Thats why I had to trade my 67 core support for a 69 and up. Headlights won't mount right.

That fiqures,I bought this thing at a swap meet and the headlight buckets were already removed. It looked like a 68 without the buckets.Guess I got :bansex:
