what's it worth ?????? - '89 GMC 1-ton

I have a chance to get an '89 GMC 1ton for around $900

It is 2wd, 6.2L Diesel, Stick Shift, Long Bed.

For argument's sake say it's got 150k on it.

The body could use paint and needs some dent work....but it is rust free.

Has Ladder Racks and bed Liner.

Is it worth it? - I know that I wouldn't keep the diesel motor in it since i don't like them and don't want to fix it when it breaks - but is that a good price considering the body is in decent shape with no rust???

Also are all the cabs the same or are they like the 67-72's with HighHump & Low Hump floors??? - would this cab go right on a 4x4 chassis with no problems???

Thanks in advance - Andy

Dude, why is that truck NOT in your driveway?!

Rust free, stick shift, and it has a diesel? Man, thats a heck of a desireable combo Betcha you could re-sell that 6.2 for 1000 bucks

All stick shift trucks have high hump cabs, and less some possible t-case clearance issues, they should bolt straight up to a 4x4 chassis

I figured - I didn't know the 6.2 was that desirable of a choice. It runs well but not what I want. I would probably end up swapping the body onto a 3/4ton 4x4 truck chassis eventually (since there lots of them for cheap with rotted body's

Anybody else have an opinion? -

I forgot to mention it is a single rear wheel axle and has a regular long bed box on it.

what is the 1-ton chassis worth? - with the 6.2 and 4speed tranny?

Re: what's it worth ?????? - '89 GMC 1-ton

Its only desirable to the right person

Lots of guys absolutely detest them, but other guys (mostly 4x4er's) love em, esspecially with a turbo kit on them.

Personally, I wouldn't mind one Just can't run em like a gasser engine, or you blow headgaskets and stuff, lol

2wd chassis isn't worth too terribly much, couple hundred for the rear diff maybe, and the SM465 is pretty common as well, 50 - 100 bucks is typical.
