Exclamation A/C Fan Shroud

I need a shroud for my 69 A/C truck I was told that I needed to use a shroud from a 4wd.My motor is in the back motor mount posistion,it had about a 4"+ gap from fan to rad. Do I need one from a regular 2wd or do I need to get the 4wd one the 4wd are a little deeper correct? THANKS FOR THE REPLYS

Re: A/C Fan Shroud

The 4X4 is definately deeper. I have both at home I could measure for you, or possibly take some pics. Would be later tonight as I am at work right now.

Re: A/C Fan Shroud

My understanding is that the rear position is only 2" back. It doesn't sound like a 4wd will be long enough if you have a 4" gap, but that is just a guess.

Why is your motor in the rear (4wd) position?

That is a estimate on the distance,my motor was put there cause I didn't want to lengthen my drive shaft.I'm running a sb with a 350 TH the truck was a 6 cyl 3 speed originally

Re: A/C Fan Shroud

Finally got home to take the pics.

The one on the right is for 4X4 and is about 9 inches deep.

The one on the left is for V8 and in 5 3/4 deep.
