Anyone have 17x9.5 torq thrust?

I did search and looked through the last 8 pages of post but couldn't find anything. I saw plenty of 17x8. I was wondering if the 5.5" backspacing on the 17x9.5" fit on the rears. I have the torq thrust 15x10s with 3.75" backspacing now. Thanks

What size tire do you plan to run? I had 275/60/17 on my 68 and they rubbed on the inside of the bed. There is no issue on fleetsides because the inner fender is deeper. I would run a 275/50 rear 255/50 front.

Re: Anyone have 17x9.5 torq thrust?

I want to run as wide a tire as I can. I am running a 325/50/15 BFG Drag Radial right now and it does have some room between inner fender. I do have a very slight rub from the stepside though. I do some drag racing and I will eventually be hitting the road course too so big sticky tires are a must.

Re: Anyone have 17x9.5 torq thrust?

I would get the wheels with 5" bs if you can. The overall width is what will hurt you. Mine rubbed where the tire ballooned out in the middle. Shorter sidewall tires won't bulge as much so you should be alright if you stay with a shorter(40,45,50) series tire. I would keep the 15's for drag use and use the 17's for shows and road courses.

17x9.5 with 5.5 bs will be perfect. Thats the size I had on mine with a 275/60/17.
