For the best ride on the cheap, buy some spindles for the front & cut a coil of your stock springs. You can use drop springs out back or manual inflated bags.
Or... get some drop springs from one of the vendors on the board or look for used ones in the parts section. There were a couple of decent deals not to long ago.

I recently bought 4" rear springs and cut 1.25 coils off the front for almost a 3" drop in front. Looks way better than it did.

i have heard that you can use the rear springs from a mid-80's el camino to replace yours and get approx 4" while still retaining 1/2 ton capabilties...can usually get a set of used ones on the cheap at the local pick a part...if thats not low enough you can fab or purchase blocks.... for the front i agree with scoti

I took the springs out of my buddies 78 ElCamino so @ least I didn't pay for them & just swapped my stockers back in. If you can score some for free, it might be worth checking out but my truck sat about like yours does in the pics. I'm not so sure about the 'same capacity' claim either. I don't think A/G bodies were rated to haul as much as a 1/2 ton truck. I know both my old el caminos couldn't carry much of a load in the bed w/o squatting significantly. My .02 worth of experience.
