Re: which ones

So what year Chevelle headers fit? Will they fit without any modifications?

Re: which ones

one problem I ran into with the Chevelle headers (BBC) is that the pass. side interfeared with the Milodon Low profile oil pan. don't know if that's a problem on the small blocks, but it might be something to look out for...

THANKS BIGARMZZ ! Man I've been drooling over yours since I saw it in T.O.T.M. !

it's just a phantom grill that was supposed to have a strip of alum. across the center of it... I didnt like the looks of the split grill so I painted the 5 or 6 recessed blades black to match the truck, then mounted small amber running lights onto the rad. support.

sorry for the thread jack.... 82c10

Re: which ones

Ive had a bb & a sb in both the 69 & 84 trucks. Both had chevelle headers & both fit fine in either truck. The stock trans xmember may be a problem with chevelle headers. The 84 has a dropped trans xmember..

update.... found out that the problem wasn't the header or the oil pan. I have Merlin heads and the exhaust ports are raised some. the "truck" headers clear everything but scrape on speed bumps, dips, etc...

Re: which ones

My neighbor up the street put a 350 from a Nova in his 84 Sierra Classic, used the headers from the Nova, he had to notch the frame (i think, this was a couple years ago) and it interfered with the shift linkage (automatic transmission)... but he made it work with a little tweaking. Just another thought if you don't mind going to the work.... or if you have a set of headers from a Nova laying around

Re: which ones

While I was breaking in my new engine I had some Mr.Gasket car headers on. The only problem was that the passenger side header dumped straight into the transmission bracket. I switched to a set of Dynomax truck headers when I had the full system put in, but I think when I lower my truck I'll go back to the car headers and make a new transmission mount to make it work. I'd go with shorty's but I'd hate to lose all that torque.
