Door Caps??

Does anybody have pics of door caps installed on a Blazer/Jimmy? Could these be the reason that it's like a waterfall inside my Buddy's Jimmy when it rains? I've never seen a setr of them in person. Pics on E-bay are it. Search didn't turn any up.

It is more likely that his drip rail deflectors are bad or not sealing to the top properly. They are the rubber piect that goes between the windshield frame and the top.

Re: Door Caps??

Got any pics installed? I'm having a hard time visualizing how these pieces all work out. Maybe I should take a look at LMC or something for a diagram too.

Re: Door Caps??

I don't have any installed pics, but they are items #3 (as a set) in this LMC illustration.

Re: Door Caps??

Are the drip rail deflectors even original? I put some on my blazer and it didn't seem to do much of anything. If i were to do it over, i would invest in new weather stripping instead of the drip rail deflectors

Re: Door Caps??

Original blazers have a piece of rubber running across the front of the top that is supposed to seal against the windshield frame. At the corners the door seal mounts on the firewall edge and has a triangular section that screws into the upper corner. The top should have a weatherstrip that attaches to the top and intersects into the windshield frame. Right next to this leading edge, there is a short black piece of weatherstrip that has two screw holes that go into the top and into the upper windshield frame. On the top of the door above the vent window there is a plastic piece that slips into the top of the door frame--. These are supposed to help route the water out of the blazer. With all these pieces of rubber supposed to be interlocking to keep water out----all they really do is filter out the leaves when you park under a tree in the rain. I have not met anyone with a blazer that doesn't let water in above the vent windows!
