Anyone have Vintage Air installed on their Blazer? How hard was the install? How much did it cost you?

I don't have a Blazer but I do have Vintage air on both of my trucks. If you have basic hand tools and the ability to read and follow instructions you are in! The kit comes with everything but pulleys and a belt. The instructions are well illustrated and written. I want to say the price of a sure fit system is about $1100. They make a kit for factory air cabs, non air cabs, using non air heater controls, and using factory air controls. You can use factory vents or the ones that come with the kit.

It sounds like your Blazer is non-air. I installed the VA system in my Blazer. Mine was a non-air dash. You have tons of options for the install... stock vents, VA vents, stock heater control, stock AC control, VA controls, etc. When you order the kit you can specify what components you want to use.

I chose to go with stock vents and swapped out my heater controls for stock AC controls. I cut the holes for the vents basically by eye using the stock vent as a template. The side vent holes look pear shaped, but actually it is the curve of the dash that gives them that look. When viewed from the front they are a circular hole.

Mounting the evaporator is a piece of cake. I can't tell you what is involved in mounting the compressor because I cheated big time and installed a VA frontrunner serpentine setup.

The VA setup works great (hot and cold!). Couple of pics:

I don't have a blazer now, but if things work out, I should have one in less than two weeks. It doesn't have air, hence the questions. thanks
