Cage would help but may not cure.
(pic to show cage not twist)

Even with a full cage tied into the frame, mine will still get pretty twisted.

Rockrln, what's the score?

You know you can snap a hard top doing that right? I wouldn't try that again unless you take it off.

Re: Flexed out my blazer today..

i just got back from picking up that cage on craigslist. it's in great shape and the welds look awsome. i got it home in the back of a sb pickup... by the way, i checked out that blazer. that guy has some really good parts. good single wall top, factory ac, uncut dash, those trim pieces for the front and rear of the bed carpet, good windshield frame, great rear hatch with all the hardware, most of the body is straight, etc, etc... he says he doesn't want to ship but it sounds like he could be persuaded to tho

Re: Flexed out my blazer today..

The hatch was open when I parked it and it started to rain so I closed it but ya it looks pretty bad btw this is my junk top I have another getting ready to go into the shop to get restored and ready to put back on... That bronco you got there kevin is pretty nice.... Hey kurt do you have any pics of your flexed out, how is the door operation when flexed out??? I am pretty sure a cage would fix most of my flex issues but it seems like the top was makeing the most noise....

No twisted pics 'yet'... but there have been times when the doors where tough to open.

I'm still not convinced a cage is a cure all but I do know I like having it there.

Wheeling with the hard top on still made noises, even with the cage.

Re: Flexed out my blazer today..

Not the best pic for flexin..can't find another right now...

Anyway my .02c on this topic
Greg72 was able to bust his top wheelin, ripped the fiberglass and everything. I never actually broke my hardtop when wheelin but it use to move so much I hated it. Just a matter of time before I busted it...
..so I gave it to Greg
Wheelin without a top for me is WAY better...Not only can I see better but the freedom of no top is awsome.
When my rig gets twisty the doors can become 'stuck' inplace. My cage will go one way and the body goes the other way. Now my cage is not tied into the frame at all. Just bolted to the body crossmembers & rear (backside) wheelwell. The very front is bolted to a somewhat rusty floor My Blazer body moves around but not all that bad...plus if your wheelin twisty stuff the movement is actually a good thing...two stiff and stuff brakes
Have a good one
Burt

Goofin' Around

I'm sure I'll be hit with the poser pic thing but that's okay...

Doing the urban twist. Notice the wringle in the soft top, cage and all.

Couldn't hepp myself.

I had moved the blazer to bring wood in and when
I was finished I thought the same thing about the stack.
Pretty sure I could of gone higher but wasn't willing to trust the wood.
