I've been interested in this also but would like to know more. I had no idea the kit was so pricey, but $150 sounds a lot better than $300.
I hope somebody here has some first hand experience to share.

JCWhitney has it for about $100 --- it is a good concept as I was in utilities and familiar with anodes used on buried pipelines. I have it ordered for my 2006 k1500 --will let you know.

My elector-shield is installed on my 2006 Silverado 4xx4 and the LED's are flashing as it says they should. The Teflon wax that came with it has been applied. I placed the anodes behind the headlights and on the inner side of the outer fender wall away from the elements. Says it keeps paint from oxidizing also. Instructions sadi to apply the wax up to the anodes. It would be nice if it repels dust.
