can i still use this gear??????

i went out in the garage this morning to take a pic of my posi carrier,and i noticed my pinion gear on the floor,i dont know how it got there or what,but i noticed a little chip out of it,can i still use it???????????

I wouldn't make a habbit of using chipped gears but if you need to use that one, you should take a file and nock the rough edges off so you don't gall the ring gear. Just my o-pinion.

It'll work, but not as long, and it will likely make a little noise, like a ringing type sound.
I have had a chipped pinion like that and never had a failure, but it was a little ringy.

well,it doesn't look like it is where it contacts the ring gear,it looks like it just missess it,but i can dress it up i guess,i just didnt want to have to spend another 150 on gears
