Re: cab devider chrome
yea i will need some trim but what i'm looking for right now is a pic of the back of a cab showing the exact location in respect to the body line. the back of my cab was dented pretty bad and want to see where chrome sits if it will hide the line on the ridge or how much more sculpting i need to do

Re: cab devider chrome
i can help ya out, hmm well after going through 300 67-72 pics, i couldn't find a good one, but the trim goes from the bottom of the driprail, to the other side. so where the driprail ends is where the trim goes.

Re: cab divider chrome
Keep in mind you need special rivits that are set into the body for that trim to work. If your cab was not set up originaly you may have a hard time getting them installed.

Re: cab divider chrome
Yes as Rokcrln said there are rivits in the body to attach the trim.
I took off the trim on mine awhile back and here are some pics of the rivits and the clips holding the trim to the body.

Re: cab divider chrome
Some body shops have the tooling to weld them on. I have it if you want to swing by I just bought a pro stud welding/dent puller and it has the attachments to weld them on. But as far as I know they do not have a pop rivit that will work.

Re: cab divider chrome
I used stainless steel screws (don't remember size, 6, 8, or 10) but the head of the screw is about the same size of original stud heads. Email GMCPaul as he has the measurements of each stud and should be able to give that to youl.
Once each hole is drilled, put the plastic clip in place and tighten the screw. I used a sealer on the threads to seal up the hole, prevent rust, hopefully act as a threadlocker. Last edited by John Fabris; 03-07-2006 at 01:47 PM. |
