What would YOU do???
I just got 400 bucks for the snow plow that came off of my truck. Now I just need input on what to do with it. I could use a carburetor for my truck, but I could use a whole parts truck (t-case, power steering, etc.) What would you do with the $$$??????

Patience grasshopper.
Start looking for a parts truck. Give it some time. Work all your leads: mechanics, friends, parts board.

Re: What would YOU do???
A. I'd have kept the plow and you could have quadrupled your money in one big snow storm.
B. I seem to recall you saying it was a Myer's plow............You sold it too cheap I am hunting a good used Western V-plow for mine. Can't beat knocking down $1600 for 12 hours of work in one storm.

Re: What would YOU do???
Drive your truck around for a few days, and decide what you despise the most about your ride.
Tunes? Too much exhaust noise? not enough power? Rides like crap? Make a list over the next few days, and see what you NEED, (tires bald?) verses what you want. (pretty rims) I'm willing to bet your 4 bills will be gone rather quickly. |

Re: What would YOU do???
Patience is Key, shop around and wait for a parts truck, they will come up and when one does and you don't have the money for it you will be sorry, besides once you find the parts truck you can then sell the parts that you aren't going to use and then have enough money for the carburator.
BTW what type of carburator are you looking for? I might have one cheap enough for you to get the best of both worlds

There's been a 69 Chevy 3/4t 4x4 in local classifieds for about a year now. It was $1800, but now it's only $500 OBO, so I'm thinking I can get it for $300 or so. Its got a 350 4speed, and a plow on it. Also said it had 48,000 orig. miles in the ad, but I'd question it. All I really want is a t-case and power steering, but hell, why not buy a whole truck with spare drivetrain, etc.?? I know $400 isn't much in the truck parts world, but if I shop around right as said, I could get a good amount of stuff. I'll have to keep mulling on what to do. Thanks for the input, guys. |

Re: What would YOU do???
sounds like you might already have a buyer for the plow!
I say parts truck it......pull what you want, and sell the rest......if you can get that truck for $400, you can always sell the front and rear axles for at least that much!

Re: What would YOU do???
GRENDEL has been trying to get rid of a T/C & 4 speed trany out of a 68 K20 for a while. He's in NH. It's posted on the parts board. Try this link if it works.

We are expecting our first child, due date is April 1 so I'd have to save
the money to help pay for all the baby stuff we have to buy.

I'd rather put an NP205 in instead another Rockwell. It's not to hard of a job to convert one over (doesn't sound like it, anyway) and NP's have a lot more parts availible. I have spoken to grendel about the t-case/tranny, though. I'll have to call about that 69 Chevy. Thanks for the input. |
