SWB from repo sheet metal
Just wondering how many have made their SWBs from repo bedsides and other repo parts. Probems, cost, etc. I have an old bed and am just wondering if it is worth fixing or going twaiwnese? Thanks for your thoughts, Danny

Re: SWB from repo sheet metal
SWB = short wheel base. What are you talking about?

Re: SWB from repo sheet metal
Most of the repop parts I have on "GQ" are not as good as OE Parts,
they do not fit near as well, of course this is just my humble opinion.

Re: SWB from repo sheet metal
ah, i see. we had a discussion about that in the general forum this week i think. SWB is short wheel base (115, IIRC). i thought it was settled there's no such thing as a "wide bed"
an aftermarket short stepside bed was fully covered on that TV show Trucks! for the Copperhead project. I think I have that episode in my TiVO and I can find out the manufacturer if you want. It looked good going together and looked even better on the truck. edit: sorry i'm being an ass.

As for the 'SWB' debate, it's up to each individual what it stands for. For me personally, it means a 'short bed' truck.

damn, you're right about the bedside, i am just mentally wasted tonight. rought day. well...i can still find out who made that bed - at least it might be a lead. i would probably buy a used one though if yours is that bad off.
