When I lock it and go to close it the nob pops back up and it won't lock. It won't lock with the door closed either. Any ideas?

Can you lock it with the key? You can't lock it and then close the door. They must be locked from either the inside or with the key.

I'd pop the door panel and lube it up really well. While your in there, check to see if anything is disconnected. I believe there is a metal rod that connects from the lock knob down to the actual mechanism.

Re: Passenger Side Door won't lock. Help!!!!!

I seen a couple of things cause this.

1 can be a mis-adjusted door/stirke plate. If the door isn't fully closed the lock doesn't fully seat. You could try to move the strike plate out just a little and see if this helps. When you install a new gasket this will happen too until the gasket compresses enough to let the door shut enough to lock.

2 is the rivet that holds the latch wheel is worn and/or really loose. This will let the wheel move out of adjustment and not let the lock fully seat. Inside the door mechanisim is what I can only describe as a gear and the lock is a pawl that parks in that gear. Spin it one way it unlocks(as in closing a locked door), the other way it is locked. Halfway there and it doesn't lock.

As above, lube liberally never hurts. I like white lithium spray lube.

It won't let me lock it with the key either. Can't lock from inside.
