Question Custom 10 Deluxe options

A nephew found a '71 Custom 10 Deluxe longbed that's in pretty good shape, according to him at least. I was wondering if anyone could point me to a site or a source of information on what the Deluxe package included as far as options? Plus, the asking price is $600, which I think is a pretty good deal, but if it isn't, let me know.

Thanks,
Scott

Good deals depend on options, condition and location. If it is a runner in any kind of condition it is worth the price. Good luck! Post some pics!

He said it runs and drives well, and I'll post pics as soon as I get my hands on it! I have him trying to get the model code from the glovebox, but it took him a month to get the vin, and I can't go and look at it for another month. The wait is killing me since I've been thinking about having one for a year now, and have turned down 5 or 6 that I should have gotten.

That's what's putting the time delays in, since it's not in my area, in fact closer to yours! Nephew's in Trenton, and I'm planning on looking at it on the way to Kearney in late May. Hopefully it will still be there, if not, I'll keep looking.

The Deluxe was a trim level. It basically consisted of bright metal trim around front and rear glass, chrome wing vents, fancier seat Upolstery, chrome centered dash knobs and probably vinyl padded door panels. Also included color keyed floor mat.

Thanks for the info! Figured it was a trim level, but couldn't find anything on what specifically was different.

Thanks for the welcome!

'71 Custom Deluxe = Bright metal rear window molding, vent window and windshield moldings, cigar ligher, dual horns, bright control knob trim and dome lamp bezel, fender nameplates, full-depth foam seat with cloth trim, door trim panels, color-keyed floor mat, door operated dome lamp switches and special insulation. Cost $107.60 extra.

I'm sure that '72 is the same. My info on '72s is limited, but most of the '71 info is the same. The arm rest pad options may be different, because they are different in '72.

also, colohusker, $600 for a 71 is an excellent price, if it is not a complete rust bucket, used to be a farm truck, beat to he!! rig. I paid $1800 for my 72 K-10 and it was rough and rusty.

Thumbs up

Supposed to be some surface rust n the bed, rockers have some holes through, and surface rust on the driver front fender, but the body is supposed to be straight. Should have pics after 5/19, just sent a money order to finalize it today. Now comes the hard part of waiting 'till I get the time to go pick it up!

there is an 800 number that will connect you with General Motors Restoration . It has been posted here before and I used it to get my info packet on my 72 but unfortunately I can't find the number now. Perhaps someone reading this has or knows who may have this info. and will post it again.

Yep, I found this at http://www.chevytrucks.org/tech/restpak.htm

Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center
Chevrolet Motor Division
General Motors Corporation
P O Box 7047
Troy, Michigan 48007-7047

Phone: 1-800-222-1020

Don't be surprised if it takes 10-15 calls to finally get through. Ask for a "Restoration Package" (it's free in the USA). They will want your Vehicle Identification Number and year for your truck. The restoration package they send includes complete engineering specifications for your year truck, and also a very long list of parts vendors for classic Chevys.

hey thanks husker,
now I can send for the pack for my 69 Longhorn.

BTW I emailed my request and had a reply via my email address same day. The pack took about 4-6 weeks to arrive as I remember.
