Question Dash Bezel Question Again!

I've been looking through old post about this before on what bezel fit's what.
I have a 74 with the small hole for the headlight switch, I need to replace mine but can't find one anywhere with the small hole, from what I have seen I can use one from up to a 76.

What does it look like with the big hole for the headlight switch? I have a blue truck so you'll see that? is that how hey look? Does anyone have a picture of there bezel around the headlight switch? I'm watching one one ebay that end in 6 hours so if you have a pic post before then, of course the guy selling the bezel says 73-80??????

Re: Dash Bezel Question Again!

one more question, from what I gather from looking in LMC, Chevy Duty, Etc... no one sells a repo bezel for 73-74, only 75-77 is the only difference in 73-74 the size of the hole for the head light switch or is their something else????

If you use a newer bezel on your 74, you will see the blu dash and the nut that holds the headlight behind the dash. If you can get the newer bezel for cheap, and don't care if it isn't "correct", go for it.

Re: Dash Bezel Question Again!

I think I may have to, if that's the case I'll get some black felt glue it to the back and slit it for the switch, that should clean things up! Thanks for the info

Yup that's what's happening to me fit is fine but you see the nut - if you get the 75+ nut and Headlight Knob does this fix the problem?

Re: Dash Bezel Question Again!

there is a bezel from a 74 on ebay $9.95 Starting bid with 5 days to go. It's a bit messed up around the radio opening.

Re: Dash Bezel Question Again!

Well I can tell you the good news so far.

Just installed the 75+ bezel on my 74. Overall fit is nice, and of course it looks great vs. the beat up on that was there.

Issues:

1. My car is non-ac and they don't make non-ac bezels, Now along the line someone installed all the dash vents anyway so I had the parts. So I have non-functional AC vents. But if I didn't I'd have to make up plates or put non functioning vents in to fill the holes.

2. The wiper switch fits the hole fine, but it's mounted about 1/2 in too high to operate with the new bezel in place. 2 very small holes were re-drilled and the original wiper switch relocated down just a bit and looks and operates perfectly. This is a super easy fix.

3. As posted, the hole for the headlight switch is too big. I've purcahsed a 75 mounting nut and knob from LMC and will see if that fixes the problem. Function is fine, but as noted it doesn't look quite right.

I'll post pictures when I ge the 75 headlight parts and see if that fixes the problem.
