I need help!!

Well we bought that new intake and carb and realizied we would need new valve covers because the oil fill was in the old manifold.

One big problem- the holes in the head are off center! All the valve covers that I can find locally are straight across.

AHHHHH .......editeded by moderator........

Thanks!

Re: I need help!!

Valve covers with offset bolt holes are from '55-early '58 models. I bought a chrome set then drilled a hole in each one for a breather/oil fill cap. I also JB welded an oil deflector inside so it wouldn't "shoot" oil in the breather cap.
I never used it because I decided to go with a crate engine so if you're interested send me a pm.

Re: I need help!!

If you look at the front of your Edelbrock manifold you'll see a boss (flat area) where you can drill for the old style fill neck and still use your valve covers. I'm guessing you have the breather at the back of the motor. Pre-pvc.

Re: I need help!!

Dont want to drill a hole in my new intake, that would be too much work. So we decided to drill a hole in the valve cover. It is gonna work, got a nice K&N breather.

BUT I would be interested in those chrome ones Seon. Do you have a pic of those?
