NP205 info needed!

I just bought a NP205 transfer case and when I started disassembling it I found this , (pic), clip stuck to the magnet at the bottom of the case.

Anbody know what it does or where it goes? Maybe an exploded parts view online or somethin?
This is my first time inside a 205 so any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

That doesn't look familiar to me at all. Do you know what year and application the 205 is from? I have rebuilt a '72 205, and I never saw anything like that.

That, believe it or not is supposed to 'hold' the magnet in place. It is upside down in the pic.

Yep! I just figured it out and was uploading a pic of it attached to the magnet.

Here it is;

BTW, Blazer1970, it's supposed to be a 1982 case. Maybe the earlier ones didn't have the magnet and/or retainer.

Just a FYI, I took apart another 205 yesterday to swap some parts between the two.
This case says it a 73 model on the tag and it doesn't have the magnet or clip. As a matter of fact, it doesn't even have the casting "nub" inside the case for the clip to attatch to.

Also the case this clip/magnet came from has what looks to be a casting date on the side. It says 2-1-80.
I've already put the 73 case back together, but I'll post some pics of the magnet mounted in the "80" case later today.
