Please help! Need drum info quickly!
I'm putting new shoes, cylinders, and hardware on my rear drums and I'm a little confused. Should the parts arrangement of the left and right be exactly the same but mirror images of each other? On the left, the small shoe is in front but on the right, the only way the damn things want to fit is with the big shoe in front. The E-brake lever goes on the back side no matter what, right? Just that the damn lever only fits in the one shoe, the short one, while on the other side, it was the long one. Am I missing something dumb? Please help! I want to at least get the rears done today b/c I have my front disc conversion just waiting on me!
Thanks in advance! Jason

Short shoe faces the front on both sides, long shoe towards the rear. Not sure why your having problems, maybe the part store sold you the wrong shoes.

Thanks!
Turned out the hole for the parking brake lever needed some "adjusting" with the ole drill. Now she's all back together (at least the rear) and awaiting fresh(ly turned) drums.

Just a note to mention that sometimes during life of rear brake shoes someone may have adjusted the e-brake cable up to compensate for shoe/drum wear and when you install new parts you may need to back off that adjustment, so if your having a rough time trying to install the drums over the new shoes check the e-brake cable adjustment.
