Brake booster problem!

bought a brake booster from someone on the board and am having a problem with it.
the pushrod isnt long enough to bring the brake pedal back up to original position, so when it is hooked up the brake lights stay on.
i looked at the brake light switch and it wont adjust out long enough to raise it up . and it is welded on so i dont think it can be moved. what do i need to fix this?

Re: Brake booster problem!

also, the brown/tan wire i removed from the prop valve. Does that need to be hooked back up somewhere?

Re: Brake booster problem!

This is actually normal. You will need to adjust the brake light switch to only turn on when the pedel is pressed.

Re: Brake booster problem!

Mine was adjustable. The switch at the pedal could be screwed in and out.

Re: Brake booster problem!

Brown wire is for your brake warning light and should go to the proportioning valve. If you didn't change out the prop valve to one without the switch it should just plug right in. I believe the brake pedal sits quite a bit lower with power brakes than manual if I remember correctly. This is normal.
