Cool a longhorn!!!! Damn that truck is super solid! I notice that most longhorns that I see have a 402, why is that? what are you going to have done to it in the shop?

Going in for complete resto. I don't have the time or ablility and my work would be temporary. It is a 30 year old truck and what I put into this truck If I only get 20 years out of it I am money ahead over a new truck that might last 7 years. Most longhorns were for hauling campers or heavy loads and when gas was 21.9cents a gallon it was not a problem. My dad put 2 poly aux. tanks on it and could take on 61 gallons so you could get past 1 or 2 gas stations before you stopped to fill again. Back then when he filled it would roll the gas pump because they only went to 9.99 dollors on it which was about 38 to 40 gallons.

A factory new redo. body, paint, engine. It has hauled a lot of weight over its 30 years 156,000 miles. the rain gutter seam sealer dried and cracked 20 years ago and I didn't realize where the water was coming from so the inside pans and rockers are gone pretty good. I put a crane cam in it about 17 years ago and that 272/284 cam would be the only thing that I would put in it no stock, except the vacum gauge, and tach.

15 year old pressure treated wood bed. This is what gave the bed a 3/4 inch lift so the lines to the cab don't match. I used 2x6 and 2x8 treated lumber and the stock strips. Just cut out around the tire wells. Picked up 1/4-20 carriage bolts and in one weekend had a new bed. With the rotted old bed the camper would start to lift not a good thing to have.

Passenger side looks this way on the whole side. Darn factory paint.
