September Blazer of the Month

Here's the scoop...
It's a 1971 CST Blazer 4x4 that had well over 100k on it when I got ahold of it. I bought it on sept/24/04 - almost our 1st year anniversary.

I found it on collectorcar.com and thought being it was in AZ, it would be way more rust free than anything I could find locally here in New England.

I flew out and drove it back here to VT. What a trip that was...drove as much of old route 66 as I could time permitting.

The frame was excellent so my priorities went to the body.
This supposed to be rust free blazer ended up needing, both outer rockers, pass inner rocker, pass front and rear door pillars, total drivers side front pillar and a small amount of floor repair...

I decided to go with the factory color, med olive green after much consideration but I thought having the stock color might be kinda cool/retro

So here it is...my first real attempt at a restoration project.

I'll post a couple pics of when I brought it home up to current stuff.

Being a newbie in comparison to some, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank those who have helped answer all my questions and more...lots more!
Great bunch, great site, thanks.

Yea aint that the truth luv.....

if i'm still on for Januarys blazer of the month....that'll hopefully give me some more time to put some money into mine before then! New Tires, soft top, then it'll be 1/2 as nice as VT's heh heh Still not bad for only being 18, no doubt i'll be spending plenty more time and money on it in the future!

Damn you VT, like i told ya, some day sooner or later my blazer and i will be at our house in VT too, i miss it LOTS. If i were you i wouldnt be able to NOT take it out in the dead of winter with the top off out in the white stuff! Atleast once. So much for a "never seen snow" vehichle though i guess? Too late anyways from the looks of the pics ( i see that snow melt)! Once i get my soft top....my pals and i plan on mobbing Lake Tahoe from here in CA (2 hours away) topless to go skiing, weather permitting ofcorse. If its too chilli or wet for that, we'll atleast take the top off a couple blocks before we pull into which ever resort we're going if the weathers nice. Can't count how many times last season i skied tahoe in a long sleeve T, and was hot! Compare that to last i went in december to Killington, -20 AHHHHH!

Very nice Blazer. It is amazing how much you got done is under a year. My '69 has been waiting for 3 years with little to no progress. I like the stock color too. It looks much better in the med green than the white!

It turned out pretty good for my first resto, not perfect but are they ever?
There's this crusty old guy on the board that always say's "drive 'em"
I guess that's the camp I'm in too, now. Build 'em to drive 'em.
"I can't drive 55" no really, I can't...my gears are to low
