Re: Disappointing End to the Weekend
It also depends if you got a two piece or a one piece. One pieces are nice cuz they're not as prone to leaks but they're more of a pain in the a$$ to replace.

Re: Disappointing End to the Weekend
True and guess what? Tried out the other oil pan and it still don't help so it's gotta be the rear main. Otherwise, I don't know what else it could be.

Re: Disappointing End to the Weekend
One last update. It turned out to be the rear main seal. Should be up and running by this weekend.

Re: Disappointing End to the Weekend
Well I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us this weekend. If something else goes wrong, people driving by me might get quite a show.

Re: Disappointing End to the Weekend
Jump in and do it. Changing out the seal itself isn't that hard, it's getting to it that's the pain. Then again, we did it with the engine still in.
One thing I would recommend is making a tool out of a piece of plastic or wood or anything that's not sharp to thread out the old seal and thread in the new one. You don't want to scratch up any of the surface on the crank or the main and if you scratch up the seal enough, you'll wind up with a leak again. Quote:
