We use a slightly different dimension for bedwood and have sold thousands of sets using our method. http://www.mar-k.com/bedwood_dimensions.pdf It requires you to make measurements directly on your truck but you can be assured it will fit. If you made the groove a full 3/4" wide as others have suggested the wood rests tight against the bed strip bolts. We recommend a slight clearance between the bolts and the edge of the wood to protect the finish and allow for expansion.

Whatever dimensions you use, be sure to test fit before finishing. The last thing you want is for the finished wood to need slight trimming to fit right.
