installing windows
After a total rebuild trying to put new doors back together. problem is the windows they will not roll up very smoothily and when it gets near the top it will not roll up or down any more. already replaced the rollers and rivits and the crank seems to work fine and the window will go up and down nice if the vent window is out. seems to be getting kind of jambed, anybody been through this or have any ideas Thanks dave

Re: installing windows
These can be tricky at times. What I have done in the past is not install the window first to see how everything moves. You probably have one of the arms crossed and it is getting jammed up.
Also, make sure you use white litulum grease on the tracks and on the gear. This will help smooth out everything. I would recommend removing all the old grease and applying new grease. It will help smooth the cranking. Adam |

Re: installing windows
Some times the window felts get really dry so the window has a lot of drag. Lube them up with some silicon spray, unless you plan on painting it soon

Re: installing windows
thanks for the replys, another thought is that i will try to run the window up the tracks with everything installed except the cranking mechinism see if that is causing the binding. the spring on the crank is supposed to assist on putting the window back up right? thanks dave

Re: installing windows
I thought the spring was supposed to assist on the downward side, so the window doesn't fall. I'll be watching this thread as one of my new windows on the Blazer binds as well. Jeff.

Re: installing windows
If I remember correctly there are three different rollers on the regulator mechanism that have to go in the window channel. I was using a magazine that described the process and they didn't clarify that and I found that one of my rollers was not in the channel and it didn't work very well. Check to see if this is your problem.
