Copy of a 71 REAL window sticker for all to see
If any one is like me, I had never seen an actual window sticker from one of our year trucks.
This is the one that came on the little yellow 71 truck in the picture that I just sold to one of my friends, and FYI the original purchaser actually paid $3,085.00 after the dealer added factory auxilliary leaf springs and the step bumper. I had forgotten I had it and while going through the papers I thought someone on the site may be like me, and never had the chance to see one either. Enjoy! OT |

I'd enjoy seeing that in a larger size. If you have it unreduced, would you be able to e-mail it to me?

Re: Copy of a 71 REAL window sticker for all to see
You may be correct. It looks pretty simple, but there is no doubt that it was on the window as the top and bottom still have evidence of the glue strips. Maybe they lost one and these were a way to adapt.
This truck wasnt purchased new until 10/71 and was built in 7/71 ( Last of the 71 production? ), so maybe they were trying to unload the leftover 71 stock and made up new window stickers to entice buyers before all the 72's came in. I thought it was cool that it has the 71 totally tougher trucks logo which is in the sales literature also. It is crazy to think any of this stuff exists after 36 or whatever years. OT |

That is cool. Looks like Elmer bought himself a nice vehicle. I love all the names on these back in those days. Mine has the dealer invoice also and the guy who bought the ochre truck in the picture's name was Martin Horstmeier. Those old timers were the folks with the $$$$ to buy new cars when our stuff was new. My own Grandfather bought a brand new 71 Cheyenne Super and that is what hooked me. I have a picture of it the day we came home with it in June of 1971.

Re: Copy of a 71 REAL window sticker for all to see
We had a Ford dealer in Benton, AR, who would cut the pricing portion off of the window stickers on every vehicle on the lot. You couldn't look at the sticker and see any pricing at all. That was their way of getting you inside to deal with you. I pi$$ed off a saleman, when I told him my abilty to buy was not in question, since afordability was not a problem. He responded that maybe I should just go inside and write up my own deal. If it had been some other brand, I might have done just that.
I have the window sticker from my dads' '59 Ford. They were a lot simpler that even the factory stickers the late 60's. What I think we have in this post is a dealer add-on sticker, a factory window sticker and a buyer's order. The buyer's order is what you took to the bank, to get your loan, if you needed to borrow the money to buy it. That would have been my next step.
