Happy Times Today
Well, I finished painting the frame and sway bar pieces up for the 70 last night.(first 2 pictures) Well at least the frame I can reach right now. Today I went up to Gman69's this morning to pick up my rebuilt Turbo350 (well T350-C) . Man he and his friend did a super job (3rd & 4th pic)> I was too lazy when I unloaded it on to the tranny jack to take it off andf show you the detail work he did on the Hughes pan. We also hit a yard and I picked up a couple things, the important one was a nice dual fan unit off a Windstar. They have lots of pull, so it should work good on hthe 70. Oh yeah, the fans are up against the box with the new radiator. Couple more pieces, and the engine/tranny get assembled and put on the frame. Yeah...I am going forward again!!
Thanks for all the help George!!!

Byrd, I used a putty knife to scrape some big chunks/layers of oil off. the 305 and tranny that was in this truck threw so much onto the underside of the truck and frame for many a years. I used 2 cans of easy-off oven cleaner, let it soak a hour or so and borrowed a friend's pressure washer. I went back and resprayed with some cheap engine degreaser, then pressure washed it again. I then wire brushed it with a drill cup, used the eastwood prep (laquer thinner), then brushed it on. It is much easier than POR and so far I have no complaints on how it stands up...but I've only been using it 18 months or so. Nice thing is if I wanted to paint over it (at this time, I am not), I can just rough it up lightly and paint. None of the extravagant stuff required to paint over POR.
