3 leaf front 1/2 ton springs
Was a 3 leaf front spring available from the factory on 78 4x4 shortbed 1/2 ton?

I don't think so on a short bed, but the 3 leaf pack will bolt right in. I've got a 4 leaf pack on my 1 ton.

I know my old 74 Blazer came factory with 3 leaf front springs...

I don't know if it was the same for later years but I have a couple 1971 blazers. One was a factory six cylinder and it came with two leafs in front, the other was a factory v8 and it came with three.

One of the guys I work with restored the shortbed and was applying for classic plates. He was turned down because the DMV said it was lifted. That's why I asked the question. All he has is the 3 leaf front springs and heavy duty rears. Since he is using stock 78 components I figured he shouldn't have been rejected.

Around here it doesn't matter if the vehicle is modified...as long as it is old enough. They don't even look at the vehicle.

If the option sheet shows Heavy duty suspension, then maybe he can show the DMV and they will ok it...
