Question fit question

ok, im home on leave from iraq and trying to wrench some on the truck before i have to go back. now the question..... we shortened the frame on my truck the proper amount and the engime is in. the one piece swb drivehaft sees to be too short!! the engine towers are in the forward holes does
the engine need to be moved back? it looks like thats what needs to happen but then the auto trans thing on the frame wont line up with the selector lever on the transmission? what needs to move? engine back or longer shaft? thanks for any info supplied. tommy hobbs for once not in iraq!

I would go with the longer shaft. The transmission shift issue might be difficult to overcome.

Remember you need about 3/4 ths of an inch of yoke sticking out of the end of the tranny for movement. the forward holes are where most v-8s are mounted to give firewall clearance for the HEI distributor. The crossmember is different for a standard and an automatic IIRC. Probably the best bet is like JIM says and bolt everything up and then get the driveshaft lengthened.
When you post you need to give more details on your truck. Engine, Trans,etc. BTW thanks for your service.
