The problem is the 6 lug deal. All 1/2 ton disc brakes were 5 lug on 2WD trucks.

You can use the calipers, pads, spindle, etc from the later truck, but you'll still have to pony up and buy the aftermarket 6 lug rotors from a vendor.

Yeah and they are very costly and c10crazy in your case I would just buy the kit from GMC pauls. BY the time you get everything else you need and the $150-200 6 lug rotors, you would be better of imo

Re: disc brake conversion

Question for the guys who swapped in 73-87 front crossmembers - do the motor mount holes etc. line up? I'm not that far yet with my conversion. The front crossmember went in with only two new holes needed.

I also think that the 73-87 suspension is better designed than the 67-72 version. The control arm bushings are a lot bigger.

'05 Sierra 4x4 - Had 270,000 KM and running well when it was written-off by a stop sign runner.
'94 F-150 from the "F word" company. I'll admit it...good truck. Sold what was left of it for $800 to a guy who came to pick it up at 11:00 PM with cash in hand. Hmm.
'79 Sierra Grande (Black) organ donor - perfect rebuildable 4-bolt 350 and a good TH350.
'76 Sierra Grande (Orange) - hate isn't too strong a word. Kid who bought it turned it into a hot rod.
'68 C-10 R.I.P. - Dad's old truck...too far gone to resurrect.
'59 C-50 - with hoist. Truck is gone, wife isn't. Nuff said.
