Expensive day at the salvage yard

Got a bunch of stuff that I wanted but don't really need. This is what happens when you spend too much time reading this board. Too many ideas, a little wishful thinking, big hopes and dreams... etc.

Another set of wheels & tires, mine stick out too far to lower the truck any further, aluminum driveshaft (hope it fits), couple of distributors for a TPI swap (two to make one good one), brackets for a serpentine belt setup, late model alternator, under hood light from 90's Chevy pu., many misc nuts & bolts.

The rear axle I already had.

Kinda hard to get the mileage, as you can see, it was raining when I bought it, paid $500 for the whole car.

Unfortunatly right rear passenger didn't, hope it's not bad karma using the engine, tranny...

The guy was running from the police when it rolled.

I found the car at a tow yard, wrecker driver told me about the chase.

I haven't decided whether to put the engine in my 72 or in the 70 Camaro?

Anyone know quite a bit about the LT1 and how much it can be upgraded?

If I put it in the truck, I will leave it mostly stock, if it goes in the Camaro, it will be stroked to a 383 with roller drivetrain, headers, possibly even a blower. I am not sure how tuneable the LT1 fuel injection is for wild upgrades. I would also like to know about the heads and how much they flow, can be modified, if that is a good idea... way too many questions right now.

I need to do a lot of research before actually putting this in one or the other

What year is the camaro? If it's a 94 or newer it will have a 4l60E, not a 700R4 (I think 93 was the last year of the 700R4)

I would be concerned about the engine if the car took that much damage. Good luck

Those wheels actually came off another rolled vehicle, you can't see much of it, but it is the blue truck in front of the Camaro in this pic. That was a nice truck before being rolled.

Re: Expensive day at the salvage yard

Awesome score on the LT1. Ls1.com has a Lt1 section for your research.

So what's getting the TPI?

After talking to some people today, I think I am putting the LT1 in the 70 Camaro. I have been told that the LT1 will handle a lot more upgrades than a regular TPI. I will be putting the TPI on whichever one doesn't get the LT1. Which should be the 72 truck.
