Doesn't suck to not be ready?

Since I got my truck I keep coming to think that I wish it were a fleet instead of a step.

Then I see this. A short fleet bed for $200, tailgate included. I could work on it at my leisure. http://www.craigslist.org/sby/pts/148314283.html

But I'm just not ready to do it. I'm concentrating on the Stang. And I'm trying really hard not to accumulate any more parts for future projects.

Who knows? Maybe it's just junk. (And the step is growing on me).

Re: Doesn't suck to not be ready?

do whatever you think you want to do. Oddly enough, I've got two vehicles to work on this summer, my 69 C-10, and my mom's 69 Mustang, talk about a coincidence, huh? your same year truck and Stang, and my same year truck and Stang. Anyway, the Mustang needs almost a total put-together, and it's been sitting in primer for 10 years, so I'd imagine it needs some nasty body work. Don't ask me where I'm going to find the time, or the money, although I think my mom will probably pay for a good chunk of the Mustang. That, and I'm always open to new projects, even though, like you, I know I shouldn't get them, unless I pull some time out of my a$$, somehow. I think this summer, like you, I'm going to be concentrating mainly on the Stang (and trying only half-assed not to accumulate parts for future projects)

Re: Doesn't suck to not be ready?

i would get the fleet bed and re work , like you said at your leisure then if the time comes and you dont want it you can always sell it , they are so hard to find , later on if you still want to do the fleet swap youll be kickin your self for not picking up the bed . i looked for one for months and couldnt find one near me and ended up buying a re pop . we all know how expensive that is .

Re: Doesn't it suck to not be ready?

I'm not getting it. It's not that close by. I'd kill a whole day, a day better spent getting some work done than creating more.

"At my leisure", not sure why I even said that, as my old House needs a new roof and windows. And wife has a bunch of house projects on her list to keep me busy for years.

Just posted to vent a little frustration. And maybe someone else here might want it, seems like a good deal.

Craigslist can be VERY, VERY despressing at times. I try not to go there because I usually get mad over all the good deals.

Hypothically, If someone were to go get it. Could the bed be broken down easily for transport?

It should be all bolted together except for a couple small welds on the rear brace under where the tailgate goes.
