Spare Tire

Where does the spare tire mount on a 71 short fleet with leaf springs?

Re: Spare Tire

Either under the bed, or if you have the side mount option in the bed

Re: Spare Tire

On my 71 short with leafs it is under the bed, I would assume thats where most of them would have been mounted.

Re: Spare Tire

Just an observation... Until I came to this site I never knew these trucks had a spare tire mount that was under the truck. Up here in the Great White North, every truck I ever saw until the last 10 years or so had the spare mounted on the inside of the fleetside.

Re: Spare Tire

Would there be any holes in the bed if the mount was located there?
