switching from 4 to 2 headlights

Just got a 82 diesel burb that hit an elk. It's not from NC. I was given a 86 chevy truck with single head lights. I know that the core support, hood, bumper etc will switch.
Wondering about the wiring. I see where the front light harness is one piece with the brake warning wire from the proportioning valve going into the fuse block.
Is all I have to do is pull the fuse block apart and install the single head light sub harness.
Or do I have to do anything inside under the dash.
I don't know if it makes a difference the burb is 3/4 4 wheel drive diesel, the 86 was a 305 2wheel drive.
Thanks,
Steve
