Question Norfolk/Va.Bch. Junkyards/ Pull-aparts?

I'll be in the Norfolk/ Va. Bch area all next week. Anyone know of any good junkyards or pull-apart yards? I'll be visiting my son, and figured that would be a good way to spend the day until he gets home from work.

Thanx,

Dan

Sorry I can't help, there was an old post started by me about Junkyards and it had a link to a website that listed the pull apart yards by state and location.

Re: Norfolk/Va.Bch. Junkyards/ Pull-aparts?

There was a trucks only yard out there when I was stationed in Norfolk around '97. I cant remember the name, but it was in the phonebook. The owner was pretty cool, he let me come out and do all the measurements and such to convert my old '68 to v8. I bought all the brackets from him and it was cheap. They had a pretty good selection, too.
If I remember right, it was right off one of the main highways (64/264?) and near some small municipal airport. There were 3 yards in a row and the truck one was last. I think it was West or Southwest of the Va Beach area.
There were also a few car/truck yards in the Va Beach area around Oceana NAS. Those are easy to find.
Hope that helped...

There are several yards in the Suffolk area just west of Va. Beach. They're certainty worth looking at. They are in the phone book. I believe the one that is pretty much all trucks is Rudy's. There are several others in that vicinity about 20 min. from the Beach. Also check out Always Auto Parts on Steele St. in Chesapeake ( near the Power Plant). They had 2-3 trucks the last time I was there. Pick & Pull is right there in Va. Beach and the deal of the century got away from me at Ingram's in Norfolk. You can spend a couple of days just visiting the yards.. When you get into town start calling and get directions and hit the road. Man! If I was off work a day or two next week I would be glad to drive you around to some of the yards. Good Luck!

BTW, Call me up when you get here and I'll show you my project. PM'd you with my cell #

Bob

Thumbs up Re: Norfolk/Va.Bch. Junkyards/ Pull-aparts?

Thanx. Haven't been in that area since I was in the Navy back in '80. All the places I knew then are probably high-rise apts. now. 72armyswbtruck, clay68c10, Botietruck thanx for the heads-up. Bob, will call when I get down there.
