How to repaint %$#@ plastic chrome parts?
I have been trying to duplicate the chrome paint for the interior plastic pieces, no luck.
Talked to a couple of auto body shops, only get a blank look and directions to the closest exit. Checked with some hobby stores, their opion is the model chrome parts are dipped. Any ideas ? There's really no way to duplicate the chrome plating on plastic with paint. There are a few places that will replate plastic but from what I've seen it cost about the same as buying a new replacement (sometimes more). So unless it's an item you can't find a replacement for, or you just have to have the original, I would buy a replacement part. - or paint the whole thing.

About 10 years ago I needed a bezel for a dome light replated for a Dodge I was doing. I sent it to a place in Phoenix called Buzzard products. Don't know if they are still there or not.

www.chrometechusa.com. I've had some good luck with his chroming. Decent pricing too. Oh ya, the way they do it is spray a base on and then dip it from there. If you prep it yourself( he tells you how), it will be very inexpensive.

I haven't tried these folks but it sounds good. Might be cheaper just to buy reproduction parts.
