Frame holes
In looking at a 69 C-10 short bed I noticed that there were holes in the frame that I had not seen in other truck frames. There are two 1" holes on each frame rail and they are located toward the front part of the frame. The punched holes are at the e-brake rod location, (one on each side of the the rod mounting dimple) on the passengers side. There is a duplicate pair of holes on the driver's side and there is a dimple similiar to the e-brake rod mounting as on the pasenger's side.
Anyone know what they are for? They look like factory holes. Jim Last edited by JimKshortstep4x4; 04-09-2006 at 05:40 AM. |

Re: Frame holes
Thanks for the reply.
These holes are not in any of our (10) trucks and they don't show up on the frame prints in the Assembly Manual. They definitely appear to be factory punched and I am wondering if they were fixturing holes for subsequent operations on the rails. Jim |

Re: Frame holes
got any pictures. I am curious. I have some holes around where my emergency brake cables go through the frame rails, but not sure which ones you are talking about.

Re: Frame holes
it sounds like a 4x4 frame and the holes are for the hangers and the dimples are for the shock mounts post some pictures and someone will verify Mike

Re: Frame holes
I will try to come up with a picture!
The truck is 50 miles away so it may be a few days before I can get to it. Jim |
