Bed strip length

Hey fellas, and ladies...I was hopin someone could give me a measurement of the steel bed strips for a shortbed 67-72...I want to put a wood bed in my 99 so Id like to see if the strips for a 67-72 would fit well. I cut some wood for my 72 years ago and never installed it but the truck is gone now and hell Im not even sure if the wood was the correct length anymore or not so I have no reference. Thanks if you can help!

Re: Bed strip length

not only does Mark-K sell killer bed kits, they also share all of their instructions and information with the general public regarding the bed kits:

http://www.mar-k.com/installation_hints.html

That page is full of schematics - you should find the stips you want through them and also - you might find a bed kit!

Here is their contact information from the site, you should give them a call:
"If you do not see information on the part you are interested in, you can send e-mail to our technical experts at techsupport@mar-k.com or call MAR-K Quality Parts at (405) 721-7945. You can also fax us at (405) 721-8906. "

Craig: The original length was 77 1/8" for a shortbed 67-72. We can make them any length, in stainless, steel, or aluminum. http://www.mar-k.com/bed_strips.pdf If your wood was cut to the right length, it would also be 77 1/8" long, and the width of the original 67-72 step bed was 50". If you want custom strips with bolt holes made for that truck, be sure to measure where you are putting the bolt holes in the floor they don't hit any structural pieces under the floor. We can punch bolt holes to match your pattern. If you use the aluminum strips, they do not have holes, but the bolts slide in a groove on the underside of the strip, so you can move them where you need. Let me know if you need more information.
