700R4 and e-brake cables?

I've been searching high and low for awhile now, but can't seem to turn up an answer:

When swapping from a 350TH (automatic) in a '72 LWB pickup, the crossmember has to be moved back a two-three of inches. Does moving the crossmember back interfere with the parking brake/emergency brake cables?

Everyone mentions driveshaft, etc... But is there anything else:
parking brake, brake lines, speedo cable, etc...

Thanks to all!

right now, i've got a T56 going in my truck. the e-brake cable definitely rubs on the crossmember. i don't think it will interfere, but i'll know for sure in the next couple of weeks when i get it all wrenched down!

I have a 700R4 but the redneck dipstick who owned my truck before me (and my uncle cause I know he was too lazy to do it) cut out almost all of the e-brake stuff. I get the fun task of figuring out how it all goes back together. I didn't think the crossmember would be in the way.

A833 4speed that I know off, But looking at the tunnel I would say it had the standard truck 4spd in it.

Re: 700R4 and e-brake cables?

mine was originally 3spd and i think therein lie the problem. it had the forwared 3spd tranny xmember before, but i used the auto xmember after - but no the stock one, which makes all the difference in the world.

you should be fine using the auto xmember. if you need one, let me know, i have a refinished one with all poly-lock nuts and hardware i am looking to part with. i tore it down to nothing and refinished it, but didn't end up using it in my truck.
