Engine is almost done, wish body was !!!

Just about have the engine done. Tranny is a GM/Mopar A833/MY6 4 speed overdrive, Just did a complete rebuild on the tranny, new bearings and synchros, etc, new clutch & PP, flywheel reground. Engine is a 1989 305 TBI style roller cammed version from a Camaro, it still has a fuel pump hole and lobe on the roller cam. Engine was given basic home rebuild with new rings and bearings, performer intake and added 1980 HEI. Have an Edelbrock 1406 to go on there too. Thanks to board member Chris H for the intake and carb.

Exhaust manifolds will get replaced with headers after engine breakin. Pretty basic, not as fancy as some on here, but it should deliver some MPG.

Now if I could just get the body back from body shop prision, been there since November, mist body/sheetmetal repair has been done, he says about 4 more weeks till done, well I hope so. Anyway heres some pics and more to come when the body gets here.

Yep, thats the old engine in the back there. Its a 283/302/327 ???(I'll explain if ya want)

Yep, I agree, they are pretty ugly, if they were going to stay, I would blast em and put on some eastwood high temp. That's what we did on the 68 and they look real nice.

Re: Engine is almost done, wish body was !!!

Hey Todd, how goes it ?? I'll need to get some breakin miles on it when it gets going. Might have to drive over sometime. That tranny has some huge guts and gears in it, Much beefier than any Muncies I ever had apart.Mopar put em behind 440's and Hemi's, (with the cast iron case I think), This one is all aluminun, but if you look in hte corner by the table saw there is a stock 3 speed over there and this 4 gear is much beefier than that too.

I thought you had a 700 R4 for the Caddy ???
