chevy 406

does anyone run a 406 in their truck and/or have build specs on one. I am looking to build one for my truck and trying to decide the best combo for lots of torque and hp for a pump gas driver. Thanks

Re: chevy 406

I had one in my truck. Just make sure you find a good block. Do not run higher than 10:1 for daily driving. I ran 9:1compression and 87 octane in my truck. My cam was small. I think it was a 268, headers, 650 Holley. But I did have my heads worked. The truck ran really well. BTW I did have forged pistons, rods, and crank.

I am currently building a 350 to replaced my wore out 406. I will build another 406 when I can find a good block. But the next one will be a 406 stroker, with 12:1 compression.
