Next house - 4 car garage!

Well the storms blew through tonight and everything I have is now dented. My '69 Chevy, the Z71 Burb that I bought 8 days ago, and my house. Hail that ranged from golf ball sized to over raquetball sized rained down on my house. I went out to cover the truck and decided that I would probably be knocked out if I went out into it. Came back inside and there was hail on my kitchen floor and several noticeable holes through my skylight. None of the windows on my trucks were broken, that goodness. I will survey the damage in the morning and post some pics. Sorry, had to vent.

They were saying on the news that yall were getting it pretty bad down there. I don't think it is going to make it up this way like the thought earlier.

So you finally got your $1000 car. Your patience paid off. I have had no luck finding a cheap good car. I know they are still out there but just harder to find. Hope it last forever.

Damn, my dad lives in Austin. Have to ask him about it. Post some pic's. I know the metal is heavier than new trucks. Even the 73-87 are heavier than newer ones. My buddy had a 02' GMC extended cab and the roof would flex when driving with the windows down at higher speeds.

Sorry you got hit...I didn't even know about it rolling through there. I was in Round Rock a few weeks ago and loved the area. I guess none of us are immune to the weather. I share your idea of covering the vehicles though, I am hoping to build a carport for my two Chevy's soon!

Re: Next house - 4 car garage!

Update - the Suburban has a bunch of dents on the hood, roof, and a couple on the side. So far, I have only found one dent in the hood of the '69. It was not completely light this morning so I might find a few more, but nothing like the new burb.

Re: Next house - 4 car garage!

I know exactly how you feel, hook'em.

Back in 2002 I had a camper destroyed at the dealership from hail.
The only time it went back for warranty work, a storm came through and beat the sides - looked like 1000 chinamen with ball peen hammers worked it over. That camper was aluminum sides, I had been paying on it for about 18 months and lost that money. Insurance paid it off and I replaced it with a fiberglass side camper that can withstand "normal" hail for MS.

Re: Next house - 4 car garage!

New update - the '69 has much more damage than I saw this morning. I am dealing with the insurance companies regarding the house and burb right now, then I will figure out what my options with the '69 are.
