4X4.. removing the piece of foam from inside the seal didn't require cutting. The seals are about 3' too long for our trucks. So I cut it at one of the thicker parts ( you can't see it, but you can feel it, the seal part is hollow, but in 2 places there's these stiffeners inside ) and pulled out the plug. For the other thick part I just spread open 1 of the little holes that are in the seal. They're tiny hardly bigger than a pencil lead, but you can spread them apart. I just stuck a nail in to get a pice of the foam started and grabbed it with needle nose plyers and pulled the pice out. Also when I first posted I didn't have the steel door sills in place. Since installing them it's a little harder to close the door, not sure why that is. Perhaps a little adjusting may be required after all.
