Re: What are the difference between leafs?
Anyone else wanna chime in and tell me the differences between 67-68 and 69-72 leaf springs, and whether I can use 69-72 springs on a 68?

Re: What are the difference between leafs?
You could change out the hangers.

Re: What are the difference between leafs?
Arent the front hangers riveted on? I looked in LMC catalog, and front leaf springs are the same 67-72. they only list them for one application, anyway. are the rear one bolted on?

Re: What are the difference between leafs?
Can anyone else tell me whether the leaves are different for 67-68, and 69-72. I need a stone carved answer, this thread didn't provide much useful info, if you couldn't already tell.

Re: What are the difference between leafs?
Are 4x2 rear leaf springs interchangable with 4x4 rear leaf springs (other than ride height)?

Re: What are the difference between leafs?
'67 and '68 GMC 4X2 leaf springs are unique. They are 2 1/4" wide. The '67 and '68 4X4 (both GMC and Chevy) rear leaf springs are different. They are taper leaf, use different hangers and bushings, and the axle U-bolts have the nuts on top, so the brackets welded to the axle are different, too. '69 and up leaf springs are wider on both 4X2 and 4X4 (I think they are 2 3/4"), though all the axle U-bolts have the nuts on the bottom. So, leaf springs between '67-'68 and '69-'72 will not interchange. '67-'68 4X2 and 4X4 leaf springs will not interchange. I don't know if '69-'72 4X2 and 4X4 leaf springs will interchange, but they use the same bushings and shackles, so they might.
