really nice tach dash 4 sale

I've got a restored tach dash and a refurbished idiot light dash that I will be listing on Ebay tomorrow and thought I would give the board members first shot. The first pic is the same dash just not using the flash to see the gauges better without the glare. The tach dash is $375 plus $18 s/h(will be $395 on Ebay) and the idiot light dash is $150 plus $15 s/h, this is the first idiot light dash I have done and really don't know what they go for in this condition, so let me know if I'm out of line on the price. The tach dash will include a new afer market tach wiring harness and instructions to install the harness. Here are a couple of pics, pay pal is preferred. reply ONLY in the thread NO PM's, first come first served.

Re: really nice tach dash 4 sale

You do some awsome work Byrd. Do you do the restorations on these clusters using aftermarket parts or restore from GM originals.

Re: really nice tach dash 4 sale

Thanks, for the compliments. Both dashes have after market bezels, and the tach gauge is after market.I try to use as much original parts as possible, but don't hesitate to use after market parts when needed. The idiot light dash has a brand new after market lens and the tach dash has an original lens that has been polished clear and looks like new and better than new as the #'s look right.

I love me some IHOP, but there isn't any around me

Re: really nice tach dash 4 sale

Well then, lets talk trade. I'll give you 375, fresh off the grill pancakes for that Freshly restored tach cluster. He!!, I'll even toss in a side of bacon. You should be getting some stores down that way soon. I think they just sold the building rights to the state last year. Good luck on selling the cluster, you should get what your askind with no problem.

Re: really nice tach dash 4 sale

Thank Frank, check is in the mail

Come on no takers?? You can't build the tach dash with the for what I'm asking for it.Made in USA top quality bezel($69.99 from Brothers), crystal clear polished GM tach lens, blasted, primered and painted inside and out,new after market tach, new printed circuit board(made in USA as well), all new bulbs and will include a fiber optic socket if needed. The idiot light dash has a $65 bezel and a $28 lens on it, so pretty cheap for the quality I think, am I asking too much or is there just not a market for the idiot light dashes? Both dashes have been tested twice and are guaranteed to operate properly or I will fix, replace, repair, and also 100% satisfaction guarantee, if for any reason you are not happy with it, just send it back in the condition it was shipped to you in and I will refund your money NO questions asked. BTW has never happened, but most people feel more comfortable knowing they have that option..... Randy

Bill, yes I still have it, and yes it will work with HEI, that is what I run in my trucks and I use my truck as my benchmark to test all my dashes. Do you want the dash?

Re: really nice tach dash 4 sale

Jerry, I know what you mean, I have got a NOS speedo, temp, ammeter, fuel, and a 60 lb oil pressure gauge, 69-72 bezel, tach lens, but no tach yet still looking for one to complete the dash. I have only got about $400 in mine so not too bad, so far,but I bet if I can even find a tach it will not be cheap!!!

Meathead, somewhere around $100 a piece, plus any parts needed, and shipping.

Re: really nice tach dash 4 sale

Byrd,
I have a cluster with tach now that onlt registers 800 RPM when the truck is running, but never moves until you shut the engine off then goes to 0, is this something you would want to rebuild? Before I installed it I wired it direct and it worked, not in the cluster so i think maybe something in the ribbon is bad

Re: really nice tach dash 4 sale

Bill I don't usually repair the tachs, as I have a couple of friends who can. The real issue is that some of the parts are nearly impossible to find as technology has changed so much that some of the parts are no longer being produced. I don't see what the printed circuit has to do with the tach working properly as they really independant of each other. Are you sure you a getting a good ground and connections everywhere else. If the tach worked good outside of the dash, and you had to have it grounded to work you might want to check that. Are you having any other trouble with the cluster other than the tach issue? I am working on repairing a new aftermarket tach that a buyer hooked up backwards and burnt a part inside. Not really sure what the part is called but it was easy to find I will be visiting radio shack soon I'm sure.

Billla if you are interested in getting a tach dash from me PM some contact info and I will get the parts inline to build another one.

byrd,
the biggest expense on mine was the NOS speedwarning speedometer head, almost $500.00 on ebay. but it sure looks sweet now.

Re: really nice tach dash 4 sale

I would guess about $15 a piece, plus $8 shipping for the first one and and $2 for everyone thereafter ,but does not including shipping to me. Not really much cheaper than after market, but it is original GM parts
