Return of the 67 NAPCO!!!!

Here is an update for the people that were watching this one. As you may know bruce (sakohntr) bought this in colorado.
We left northern MN around noon on friday in the sporty 93 cavalier heading to colorado. Trip down was good and saw board member don loverink along the way. Picked up the napco and started our journey home via kansas. Had to do a little mechanical work to get it running as good as we could.
Saw a blazer in kansas but the owner wouldn't sell any parts off it. HAHA
(belongs to teeitup)
Ran into a couple guys in MO and talked trucks. Nice to see randy, rob and kevin again. (all board members)
The 292 was winding up and down the highway we went. Approx 1100 trouble free miles with no major problems. We didn't set any speed records, but the oil companies should have another record setting qtr!!
To sum it up, bruce is a happy, but tired camper, and the napco now resides in floodwood MN. We went around 2100 miles from friday noon till sunday (mon morn) at 1:30 am.

I got a SWB '71 4X4 to go with that Blazer. It's the same color. Ochre or Mustard as some would call it. You guys could handle another couple thousand mile trip couldn't you?

Maybe bruce will post a few more pics when he has a chance...
The engine is a 292/4 speed, supposed to have 28k original miles on it. It actually rode and drove better than expected.

That truck would be a killer carrier for your other trucks. A transport to haul your other trucks to shows.

Re: Return of the 67 NAPCO!!!!

I love those truck adventures.I was going to drive my CustomDeluxe back from Colorado, glad I didn`t.The first one I`ve shipped. The seller said,"drive anywhere".I tryed driving to the gas station, bad clutch, frozen caliper,ball-joints ready to fall out.Never made it to the gas station, limped it home.
That truck is a pure stock restoration waiting to happen.A true museum piece.

Re: Return of the 67 NAPCO!!!!

Congratulations on getting your monster truck home. That a little pretrip work was all that was needed is great. But the thing that makes me happy is finding out that a few of us have friends that will join us on little road trips. With all the hectic day to day family and work obligations it's hard to work in a three day trip. Good luck on a very nice truck project.
