Confused about brake calipers

Hello:
Well I am swaping the front to disc brakes and at the same time I am reading about rear disc brakes on this site. I have rear HO52 and I see the blackbird custom trucks sets but they are pricey. Then I read different threads and see that people are using cadilac calipers from late 70s to 80s, eldorados, devils and etc. Can someone help me out here? I think I have to spend few hundred $$$ to rebuild the existing drum set up (if I can find all the parts)i thought it worth it to spend couple hudred more (If it can be done with couple extra hundred). Thanks

Re: Confused about brake calipers

Unless you are looking for more exotic/racing or maybe cleaning capability on a 4wd --the oem rear drums brake fine and the parking brake is excellent as is.

Rebuilding the oem drums may entail drums, shoes, wheel cylinders, and harware. --probably all for under $100. Or there are those out there that did make the switch to rear disc. They probably have good drum parts to unload like I do.
