Tire Width

i just picked up a set of 15x10 truck rally rims, for a spare set so i dont burn off my good rubber on my 20's. im thinking of finding some used slicks. i was wondering whats the widest tire i could fit on my truck , 1972 chevy short box, its lowered three and five.
Thanks
-Ryan

Re: Tire Width

Be careful! Backspace will make or break the correct fit on a lowered vehicle. What is the backspace on the wheels you have?

Re: Tire Width

I have never heard of a 15x10 rally but i'll tell you if they happen to be 15x8, you can stuff a 345-50-15 on it and it will fit. As long as the truck is not slammed.

Re: Tire Width

Doesn't that drift or kinda squirm on the road?
I had tires that wide on an 8 inch rim and it scared the livin crap out of me. Can't properly inflate them either.

CORRECT-A-MUNDO!!I believe you can get 12".I`m sure the backspace is for these trucks,we`ll see.Backspace was pretty much a standard thing until wheels got all screwed up.

I would agree.
285/295/305 is about the size you want to be running.
You get much larger or smaller and you are out of an IDEAL range. You can put several other sizes on there, but you are sacrifing something both ways.
